Hi I'm Bradley. I can literally on a good day (almost) throw a rock (even though I won't) to Colomitos beach from my house. I live here in Boca de Tomatlan. So I know a little about Colomitos, which is a little peace of paradise and I'd like to share it with you. So Here is everything you wanted and didn't ever want to know and more aboud Colomitos. As a local I'll share a bunch of stuff that only the locals know, like if you look at the rocks off to the right as you are coming in you will actually see what looks like a face etched into the rock (it's natural but it is super realistic). If you are driving from Puerto Vallarta, you can take Highway 200 north until you reach the turnoff for Boca de Tomatlan. Find some parking, and cross the bridge and there is a marked hiking trail. Boca de Tomatlan has very friendly salt of the earth people and many speak english there and can point you in the right direction to Colomitos. The beach is well-marked and easy to find.
Taxi or Uber: Taxis are readily available in Puerto Vallarta and can be hired to take you to Boca de Tomatlan and then go over the bridge Colomitos Beach. This is a convenient option if you do not have your own transportation.
Bus: Local buses run between Puerto Vallarta and Boca de Tomatlan which is the drop off point to get Colomitos Beach (it's a hike and you'll miss the other fantastic beaches further south like Yelapa, Las Animas, Quimixto, Mahajuitas), and can be a budget-friendly option for getting to the beach. Buses depart from the main bus terminal in Puerto Vallarta and can be flagged down along the route.
